On a cold day in February, we took our first trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo. The zookeepers had designed the zoo with substantial indoor areas, which was quite different from what I was used to in California. Granted, not all the animals took to the warm indoors. A tiger was pacing his outdoor habitat, and I caught him pausing to drink.
